The file 'Customizable D20 Dice Box – Magnetic 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 72.4KB.
This is hinged box with a magnetic closure that is just big enough to hold a collection of dice!
The hinge is reversible, so all the parts work as tops or bottoms. There are three variants included with this file, so you can mix and match the top and bottoms to suit your needs. The file titled "2part 10mm" may be a tight fit for larger dice if you combine two of them.
Use a piece of standard 1.75mm filament as the hinge pin.
Note: a drop of glue or epoxy will secure the pin in place, but only glue one side! Gluing both sides will prevent the hinge from moving.
Press fit or glue an 8mm x 1mm cylindrical neodymium magnet into the front of each half of the box. Make sure the magnets are in the correct orientation (a piece of tape can be used as a glue squeeze out barrier)
The larger boxes are designed to be printed without supports with the flat side (top or bottom) on the print surface. Depending on your print settings, the shallow top part will most likely require support for the hinge section.
