Summary

I got a shoe rack for free but have no use for it so by printing some custom connectors I remade it into a coats hanger. The shoe rack had also rotten fabric which tore really easily, so I kept only those in the best shape to be used in the lower part of the coat hanger and on the top. The steel tubes are 13 mm in diameter.

I kept some original connectors (CON-TL) and printed new ones. The new ones are designed to be really tight to keep everything together (0,1 mm clearance). The best orientation for printing holes in the terms of rigidity is perpendicular to the direction of the axis. But here all of the connectors have holes 90 degrees from each other so the best orientation for these to print is under 45°. Printed in PETG without supports. I only used brim because of bed adhesion while printing the connectors on the triangle brace (see picture).

I needed to remove the front tubes which I later cut to size in order to make the coat hanger. The shortest ones are put in between the connectors. All of the lengths and connectors are listed in the bill of material. On the back wall I cut and cross-connected several tubes together to help with the weight of the clothes stored.

Then I designed two types of hooks which snap in place and have a second hook which prevents them from rotating. These were printed from PETG as well and does not need supports nor brims.
