The file 'Cup Holder Clamp 2 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 4.2MB.
Please check out version 3 here which requires NO SUPPORTS: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5167450
Edit: For some reason the "download all" isn't working on thingiverse, so you have to download the files separately.
This is a desk clamping cup holder. It is the second iteration of my previous. It is different in that the clamp is separate from the cup holder portion. This allows you to have different colors, and allows for a much stronger clamp section because of layer line orientation. The previous version required a good amount of support for the clamp section, but this separate clamp will not require much support. You will will need support in the skinny part of the opening but not in the larger track. The Clamp section is already oriented correctly once downloaded. The previous design works well, but it was possible to snap if over tightening too much.
I have attached a test piece for cup holder to make sure it slides into the track properly. There is a .2mm clearance. If it's too tight or loose, just scale that cup holder piece. Do not scale the clamp. Use the clamp as your base piece. If you scale your screw to find the right fit, make sure you scale the screw with the rotatable cap together. There is a test piece to check if the screw fits correctly.
I have included some pictures on how I recommend where to place the supports. Do not place any supports in the thread. You can print this clamp any direction you wish, but this orientation provided will be the strongest. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.
