Crayon Caddy
My 11-year old great niece suggested I make a crayon holder for her 3-year old little sister who is big into coloring. I checked out Thingiverse for something suitable but found nothing I liked, so I designed this one.
The caddy is designed to fit 32 new standard crayons. See picture. These will fill up the back 6 rows leaving an empty row of short slots in front. These are for short/broken crayons as is the tray in the very front. What is the adage? “Broken crayons still color.” Anyway, all the rows are stair stepped and off-set to make finding and retrieving crayons easy for small hands.
Recently I realized that 32 was NOT a standard box of crayons, so I added a 48 and 64 slot versions.
I designed the caddy in Tinkercad and used the “text” tool to personalize it for her (see picture). NOTE: the accompanying .STL file does NOT have a name in it. You can add it yourself if you wish.
