The file 'COVID-19 Mask Cap, Darth Vader Edition 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 973.9KB.
UPDATE: added LaFactoria3D's original mask parts that this is designed to fit. It's a good design, but if you feel their updated version provides better protection I urge you to use it instead.
UPDATE UPDATE: added a second, thicker version. Use that one if you print it at a smaller scale for children so it will remain sturdy.
While printing mask parts for Lowell Makes I wanted to find some way to help healthcare workers relieve some stress. Making replaceable caps seems the best way to offer an adjustment; these clip right onto existing masks without interfering with function and maybe they can lighten the mood in pediatrics.
This is my first model: the Darth Vader version. It clips in place of the existing cap, is lightweight, doesn't interfere with airflow, and it fits easily under face shields (at least on my fat head).
How to assemble these efficiently and what to look for in filtration materials can be found here, thanks to GiveWave Studios: https://youtu.be/9ItpExBEieY
If you find any issues with it or think of ways to improve its design, please let me know. Feel free to modify this and share it to the community.
