Summary

Why wait to get infected by the Corona virus if you can print it?

This is a bobble head variation on Syzguru11's corona virus keychain. It needs a 6 mm diameter, 50 mm length spring, I think I salvaged mine from a classic Bic M10 ballpoint pen.

To make this easier to print with fewer supports and a nice and consistent look, the model comes in two halves that must be glued together. You still need to print with supports, but they should be easy to remove. To avoid a visible seam, it is advisable to enable “elephant foot compensation” if your slicer has such feature. For perfect alignment, mark the front ‘spike’ of both halves before removing them from your print bed, then it is easy to align these points while gluing.

If your print bed surface isn't perfectly flat, sanding the parts may help to avoid a visible glue seam.

Print the base with enough infill to give it some weight. I printed mine in a flexible filament for extra wobbliness, but any filament type will do.

Turn and/or bend the spring to get the virus well-balanced. The amount of wobbliness can be tuned by cutting parts off the spring, but the Bic M10 spring offers nice wobble action as-is.
