Summary

Description

Everyone's favorite Counter-Strike map de_mirage turned into a small succulent planter. This particular map version is from Global Offensive (CSGO). I really like admiring this from every angle, so I put the whole thing on a small turntable.

You can find the blender file over at Prusaprinters. It's so much easier to work with files there.

Remix & Additions

The original stl for this file was taken from thing:3487596, which seems so accurate that it may have been exported from the game. I then added space for 5 small planters, drainage connecting all the planters together, and fixed many small details and heights to keep the aesthetic of the map correct.

There is (1) 50mm tall planter that drains into (2) 40mm tall planers, which drain into (2) 30mm tall planters, which finally drain into (2) exterior reservoirs. Both the exterior reservoirs are connected through underpass to tunnel, which is a nice little detail. I attached a drainage diagram.

Printing & Assembly

I printed the base and the main portion from colorfabb woodfill PLA using a 0.6mm nozzle. I think this worked out really well, but the bearing races do come out a bit rough and need to be slightly post-processed. You only need supports inside the bearing races. I put paint-on supports in the 3mf file. The balcony outside palace above shadows prints just fine without supports. The retention ring part requires (48) 6mm bbs and can be printed out of plain PLA with 0.15 layer height no problem.

To ensure water-tightness I'd advise at least 3 perimeters & 10% fill. I think I did 5 perimeters.
