Summary

These are a collection of parts for the 1960-64 Chevrolet Corvair courtesy lamps factory accessory. The courtesy lamp package was a factory accessory for the early model Corvair, only applicable for the 700, 900 and convertible models. This package added lights that illuminated the foot wells whenever the doors were opened or dome light was turned on. GM part number: 985299 for the kit, 3813039 for the instructions. The bulb socket part is modified slightly from the stock part in case you don't have the extremely specific spade connector necessary, you can still secure the bulb into the socket.

  • Plastic Light Socket (2 needed)
  • Mounting Bracket (originally sheet metal but can be printed from plastic, 2 needed)
  • Electrical connector - small (1 needed)
  • Electrical connector - long (2 needed)
  • Electrical connector - female (1 needed)
  • PDF with box art and instruction sheets

In addition to these parts, one must acquire:

  • 2x GE 89 light bulbs (or equivalent)
  • 4x lock washers (Metric 4.5 or equivalent)
  • 2x square nuts (Metric 4.5 or equivalent)
  • 2x Philips head machine screws (Metric 4.5 or equivalent)
  • 1x Steel cable clip (optional)
  • 40cm of white 16 gauge wire
  • 40cm of black 16 gauge wire
  • 256cm of orange 16 gauge wire
  • 8x Spade connectors
  • 2x round cable terminations (for bulb sockets)
  • 2x springs (for bulb sockets)
