I needed to install a compression fitting on a new copper stub-out at a sink. The copper tube was discolored and had gotten paint slopped on it, so I needed a copper tube brush to clean it up for the fitting. I bought one of those all-in-one tools at HD that has the 1/2 and 3/4 inch, inside and outside wire brushes on it. That was a mistake.
Because there were two stub-outs and a drain line all fairly close to each other, there was no way to rotate that long 4-in-1 tool. So I cut the tool in half and was able to finish the job.
Once done, I decided I'd like it even better if I separated the inside and outside brushes (so the inside-the-pipe brush would not poke me while using the outside cleaning tool). Thus I needed to design and print a housings for the outside brushes. That's what this thingi is.
Printed in regular PLA, about 25% infill, 3 wall lines. The cap will snap into the main housing with a little force, or maybe scrape just a bit off of one side of the cap so it goes in easier.
