There are a lot of great versions of this chess set, however, I wanted something that made playing the game easy regarding sides and pieces. I took PotatoFi's base set and added MikeSanchez1's bases.
I also like Jeremy8077's use of the Wither as a replacement for one of the Ender's. My kids had a huge debate about the Wither's position. In the end, they decided it should be the queen. Who knew that block shapes can bring so much passion out.
With white and black bases, I still wanted to keep colors involved, but distinct for each side. So for each side, I had a darker and lighter version of the pieces.
