I have a Kenmore 183.94679 (equiv 183.94673); the thermostat died and it wouldn't turn off the compressor (even when set to off) - everything froze. While Sears is very good about selling replacement parts (http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-number/18/394673/0582/0163200.html), the thermostat (Parts #: RF-7350-124) is no longer available. Someone else had had this problem and talked with Haier to find out the RF-7350-101 would work. However, when I received it, it wouldn't mount to the fridge and didn't come with any of its own mounting hardware.
This little mount fixes that problem. First, there is a small pin on the thermostat than must be bent flush (careful, this is not the on/off switch - that also sticks out; the pin is part of the chasis). I printed the mount in PLA, 100% in-fill. I then used a M10 1.25 tap to thread the center hole (not strictly necessary, but minimizes potential cracking); then put the existing metal plate over the thermostat and screw the mount on. I used the existing mount screws + two #8-32 nuts to secure the mount to the metal plate (not strictly necessary, but minimizes slippage).
Then install as normal. I don't normally have to change the thermostat setting, so I'm not entirely sure how long this would last if you had to turn it a lot, but so far it's done the trick.
I've included the Inventor file if you need to adjust for a different model thermostat.
