This is a folding stand for a compact laptop (14" or smaller), large tablet or a book.
I use my laptops with external keyboards, and prefer to have the laptop standing almost vertically. Much more comfortable this way, the screen is closer to the eye level. Sometimes I lean the laptop to the wall of the cubicle, sometimes put it on a stand/books/some box. I need a better solution.
My other laptop stand is good for home/office use, but is inconvenient to carry anywhere farther than the other room.
So I made this one.
It turned out to get the seasonal Halloween flair, looks like some bird bones.
Two options:
a) to get it smaller in the folded state - print two Part 1's and one of the Spine files.
The sides tend to move inward under the load, hence the need of a spine ridge holding the legs apart.
The default spine limits the angle to 80 (some lesser than 90 degrees anyway).
The wider one makes it around 90 degrees or a bit wider (I actually prefer this one).
b) alternatively you may print Part 1 and Part 2 - it will be a letter page size when unfolded.
Update 20190425: Added pictures of the stand being used in the real life.
