The file 'Comical Bird House 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 373.9KB.
This project was conceived when my wife said: "We need a new bird house!". I knew that if I did not act quick she would buy one. Thus this project was born.
I wanted to make it funny, easy to assemble (no gluing) and easy to disassemble for cleaning, and be able to replace parts if needed. Well, I did not completely escape the glue requirement. My perch idea did not work so that needs to be glued to the front. The locking pins that hold everything together needed a design change thus a two piece design was born and those need to be glued together.
I was able to print this in two colors by doing a filament change after the "base" of the front, right side, left side, and roof were completed and before the pictures and text are printed. The thickness of the "base" of those pieces is 5.9 mm. So if you can do a change filament after the printer completes the 5.9 mm layer you will be good to go.
For best results the first layer thickness should be .3 mm and the remaining layers should be .2 mm. Deviations from these setting may produce unexpected results. I used 20% infill.
I did not put a hole to hang the house. I wanted everyone to have the option of mounting as needed.
If the hole for the birds and the perch need adjusting let me know and I will do the same!
I hope that you enjoy this project! Please let me know if you print this!
Thanks,
Don
