This Thing is no longer based on the Things listed below. It's now a version of my Modular Leatherman Wave holster, but with the module mounting points removed. The belt loop accepts belts up to 45 mm (1.75 inches) wide.

CaptCanadaMan's improvement on babozor318's Leatherman Wave holster (itself a reworking of Adam Savage's Wave holster) was genius in its use of an angled belt loop to make the tool more accessible; if you wear the holster forward enough, you can even access your Wave easily while seated in the car! However, the loop was added to a massive rectangular block on the back of the holster, which was uncomfortable to wear even after softening the edges and corners with a file. And because it was a big block with a 90° overhang it also had to be printed with some support, which was a strange design decision.

So I've made the following changes:

  1. The belt loop block is now self-supporting with a 30° lead-up.
  2. The top of the belt loop has a matching 30° taper so that the holster clears your waist.
  3. The top of the holster is shortened and rounded off.
  4. I have added two cut-outs in the base of the holster to allow the Wave's pull-out lanyard port to pass through, for people like me who use a lanyard with their Wave.
  5. The original holster had some slop that allowed the Wave to rattle around inside. I've therefore added some ridges to the back of the holster to produce a tighter fit. These ridges will wear down until they match your Wave.
