The Spiral Light Baffle is a 1-1/2" od tube with baffling to permit a 1" id through. Pipe threads permit attachment to other baffles, or lens holder caps or lens holder plugs. Lens holders with pipe threads attach to baffles and can mount filter/lenses either with fine-threaded retainer rings, or metal set-screws, or simply press-fit. Pipe threads permit multiple assembly, so light-tight tubes can be constructed with integrated filters for low-ambient-light precision optics.
Using OpenSCAD, all dimensions are scalable. Tubes can be labelled/embossed with text strings to distinguish differences. Logo engraved on back.
OpenSCAD files are fully customizable--mount type, lens diameter, tube length, thread patterns-- though if adjusting threads, it took some iterations to find parameters that printed well on a Ultimaker2 with PLA plastic.
Plans to make more pipe-thread connectors--4-way cross, lens-holder with pipe-threads on both sides, mirror mounts with x/y fine adjust... The goal is to make a light-tight optics-bench experiment.
