The file 'College Green, Bristol 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.9MB.
This model was created from DSM LIDAR data from the Environment Agency via some Python scripts. It depicts College Green in Bristol, with the arc of City Hall along one side, Bristol Cathedral on the left side and Park Street on the left.
The generated image is looking at the back of city hall.
There are two STL files - one using the 1m DEM (26Mb) and the other with blocks of 4 elevations averaged. Strangely this looks better than using the 2m DEM and is the source for the final print.
The printed model used 3DFilaPrint white PLA, roughly 78 x 64 mm and took 2 1/2hours on my Prusa I3. The base is a bit warped and needs fixing down better than I did.
The scale is about 1/3000
I think it looks better in reality than it does in my poor photo.
