Make sure to resize for your coasters: I printed this at 55% size for mine.
The top and bottom are a hex fractal that contains overlap and rotation, so you may have to look closely to understand why each hexagon is placed where it is.
The top and bottom are held together with a spiraling set of hexagons, skewed differently in each corner, yielding some alignment and some contrast between corners.
Just print the two pieces, and fit together -- glue not required in my experience.
Happily shared the scad file too if anybody wants to tweak it. Its semi-well organized and commented.
