I bought a simple IKEA Billy shelf which I wanted to place in front of some access panels in the wall. To make the access panels, well, accessible, I mounted the shelf on wheels, made a wooden frame on the wall and mounted the shelf with hinges to the frame. So I can open the shelf like a door to access the panels behind.
The problem with that solution: ugly looking hinges. So I made simple covers for them.
They fit standard 80mm x 30mm hinges. I made a open and a closed one, both snap in place. You can simply size them to your needs.
They also leave ~1mm room beneath for the screwheads.
