I have a new to me 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and needed a better spot to mount my magnetic cell phone holder. The existing magnetic cell phone holder I had clipped into the vent. The issue with this is that the vents are angled on the Chevrolet Silverado. The side closest to the driver is too close to the column shifter and the passenger side vent points the phone towards the passenger.
My truck didn't have a centre console so I decided that the best way was to use the cigarette lighter port as the mount location. I used the cigarette lighter plug from "sapiigor" and cut off the attachment. I made the cigarette port 21.10 mm wide so it would fit snug in the port. I then attached a socket to the end of the cigarette plug. I printed off the 40mm horizontal arm at 105% regular size. This made the ball fit snugly inside of the socket and when tightened, it was enough to hold up my phone.
The other end fit into my stock magnetic phone holder that I bought off amazon.
