The file 'Chrysler 300C Sun Visor Clip – Improved 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 119.5KB.
Edit - 06/01/19: I slightly modified the part so that there is a thicker base, less likely to crack from force against the screw. If you downloaded this prior to today, please update your file to the stronger version.
Hi, All!
Otibook did a beautiful job of creating this visor clip, but I found that the base and shaft were not strong enough. I thickened both the base and the tube walls, and added side struts that were similar to the original Chrysler part. I also found, personally, that printing the part in anything less than 100% fill resulted in a part that snapped apart too easily, so I recommend 100% fill for longevity and strength. Some people have suggested that a 60-80% fill results in a stronger part than 100%. I'm not sure why or how this could be true, but you may want to experiment with other percentages if you have any issues with 100%.
Finally, when you slice and print this, please print it sideways, so that the layers run vertically through the clip itself. This will result in a MUCH stronger part when you clip the visor in and out of the part.
The pictures I posted show both my printed result, as well as a side by side comparison to the original, broken, part. There are very slight differences in height, but none that will affect operation or how the part looks when installed in the car. Many thanks to Otibook for putting this part up on Thingiverse! I am happy to be able to offer an improved version of this piece, and I have no doubt that other owners of Chrysler products using this part will be pleased to see it available! Last year I replaced the other side (before I bought a 3D printer), and this little part cost over $10. It's very satisfying to have helped design a less expensive, and better (in my opinion) alternative!
Enjoy!
