Christmas Tree Stand Stabilizers
by RebelTaz
Every year when we go to our local tree farm, invariably the tree that we choose to cut down will always be too small in diameter to fit safely in our tree stand. Last year, I told my girlfriend "hold my beer" and disappeared into my workshop for half an hour or so. When I returned, I had fashioned this set of stabilizers out of some 3" sch.40 PVC pipe, a few 1/2" end caps and some assorted hardware. The worked perfectly.
Now you can make your own without the danger of trying to cut PVC pipe lengthwise without proper tools. You will need some 3/4" long 1/4" bolts along with their accompanying nuts and washers. My tree stand has five adjusters, but print however many sets you need - one for each adjuster. Assemble each set as per the exploded diagram. If two plates still isn't enough, simply add another inner plate and a slightly longer bolt.
To use, place one set against your tree trunk and screw your adjuster into the cup. The cup keeps the adjuster from slipping off the stabilizer. Do the same for each adjuster and then snug the tree down like you normally do.

NOTE
Due to either a Thingiverse bug or (more likely) shadowbanning, my models no longer show up under the [Newest] listings. If you want to see more of my models, please be sure to 'follow' me. If you print this, it would really help if you'd post a 'make' so that others could find this model.
