NOTE (March 9, 2021): After a long hiatus, I have resumed work on this project. Expect updates from time to time!
A 3D model of downtown Chicago. Each building is hand-made using measurements from Google Earth. This is an ongoing project that will be periodically updated as I complete larger sections of the city.
The plan is to fully model the area bounded by the Kennedy Expressway to the West, Division St to the North, Roosevelt to the South, and East to the lake.
Designed to be printed at 1:6667 scale (15% for those using Cura). At this scale, the completed downtown will be roughly 16 inches wide East/West by 25 inches long North/South (406cm x 635cm). (Navy Pier will extend an extra ~7.5in (190cm))
Included is an STL of the entire city as one continuous model and a zip file containing models of the city split into blocks. The zip file includes a map to show how each of the blocks fits together.
