Summary

I wanted a way to visualize and store costumes.

This is a simple display mannequin designed around cheap hardware store 27 mm diameter wooden dowels.

This, not very human shaped, mannequin can be built for less than €30 and gets the job done. It can carry a surprising amount of weight.

Mix and match depending on your wants and needs.

Parts needed for the displayed configuration (1,9m height):
1x head
4x X-brackets (2 brackets/joint)
2x Shoulders
1x Base
5x End caps
2x 27 mm x 2,5 m wooden dowels (a bit more than 1,5 used)
23x 3mm x 20mm wood screws (anything from 3 mm x 15 mm to 3 mm x 30 mm should work)

Assembly instructions:
Cut 3x 500 mm of dowels for the legs.
Add one end cap to each leg and secure with screws.
Connect legs to base.
Cut dowel to desired body height (head adds 10 mm to total height).
Cut dowel to desired waist width.
Add end caps to waist dowel and secure with screws.
Cut dowel to desired shoulder width (shoulder pads adds 10 mm to total width).
Add all 4 X-bracket parts to body dowel.
Put body dowel in base and adjust the lower part of each X-bracket to desired height.
Remove body dowel and place on a flat surface, secure lower brackets with screws.
Add shoulder and waist dowels, clamp down with the other part of the X-bracket and secure with screws.
Put body dowel in base, secure shoulders with screws.
Add head to body dowel.

Additional information:
The legs and base are removable for flat-ich storage.
All parts were printed without supports, your mileage may vary.
A printer capable of 200 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm prints is needed.
Models will need to be rotated so flat edges are facing the build plate.
