I bought a cheap Chinese camera tripod to use as a portable air rifle rest.
The initial idea was to put some sort of sandbag on the camera mount and just rest the gun on that, but then I got the idea that it would be nice if the gun would actually balance on it.
My most portable gun is the Artemis CP2 and it balances almost exactly where the but stock extension retention bolt is. I made an adapter to replace the original tripod's camera adapter with a dovetail that would receive the CP2 instead by replacing the above mentioned retention bolt with a slightly longer conical head M6 bolt.
