After the smaller ChargeManagers (410/420) for AA and AAA cells seem to be sold out, the next best choice was the ChargeManager 2016. While the additional features (support for C, D and 9V batteries) may be nice, they are rather rarely used, and the larger charger needs a lot more space. Therefore I decided to stack them in a rack or tower.
The result is a flexible stacking system for CM2016 and CM410/CM420 chargers. Starting with the bottom layer of the larger CM2016, several level of these can be stacked and even the good old CM410/CM410 can be put on the top layer. (From the pictures it is obvious, that two of the smaller chargers need even less space than one of the larger model). For the top layer choose the pin caps suitable for the top tray (CM410 or CM2016)
Neither glue nor screws are needed !
For easier access the charger trays are tilted 40 degrees. So if you are only interested in the inclined tray, you can even use it for a single charger :-) In my case with two plus to chargers, I mounted an outlet power strip to the back with cable binders to avoid messing with the charger cables and plugs.
If you buy a new charger, you can re-assemble the rack, because all parts are only plugged and not glued.
Starting with the base and a CM2016 tray, you need a pair of pillars (Lev1 for another CM2016 tray, Lev2 for reduced size CM410), a back cross (same for both variants) and of course another tray. The pins on the top tray will be covered by the appropriate bars.(see assembly picture). I haven't designed pillars for yet another CM410 level. If you really need one, leave a comment and I will add them..
