This is a chain tensioner and a chain oil plug for a Ferrex XYZ618 40V chainsaw. It may fit other bars that have a similar tensioning system.
I wanted to keep my chainsaw in an old tool box I have but the chainsaw is too long with the bar and chain attached. I wanted something that would keep the chain and bar together when I remove them from the saw and so I designed this tensioner. It can also be used when sharpening the chain by clamping the bar in a vice. Just turn the tensioning wheel to increase/decrease the tension.
As I keep the bar and chain removed from the saw I also designed a plug to fit in the chain oil outlet on the saw. This stops any chain oil leaking out when not in use. The plug slides over the bar securing bolt and prevents the bar from being fitted properly when the plug is in place. I printed the plug in black (the only colour I had at the time) TPU but perhaps a brighter colour would be better.
