Update 241119 - Verson 6. Printed and assembled. added nuts to the backside to screw the front to the back. A tuner box has been added. The 1/4-20 bolts broke, use real ones. Extra hex material so you can glue from the inside to make it super strong. Rails to mount to the neck so you can mount the neck in a removable fashion.
Starting with the original, I've resized this down a bit, and fit the cutout for a piece of 3/4x 1 1/2" maple stock (nominal 1x2,) to make a Cigar box guitar of this design. With the CBG, the "box" is really just decorative and lends no support, which makes 3D printing an easy decision for a body. It's WIP until I actually fit out the guitar. There are 8 parts to print, 4 top1-4, and back1-4, the rest are just exploded views, and other layouts of the parts in an all in one fashion. I also added a knee rest that fits into a position that I like that attaches outside the frame of the guitar. When I assemble, I will probably attach that with a wing nut so its easily removable. Actually the whole back of the guitar will also be able to be removed as well. This way you can keep a bag of harps, picks, and slides inside the body for traveling.
