Update: added some pictures of the painted box and a template for the logo
I needed a storage box for the interlocking catan 3D board.
I printed all my tiles interlocking on all sides.
This way the scenery can be glued to the base since they are all the same.
I created separate edge pieces to be used as a brim.
For a normal catan board layout you need following pieces to create the brim:
18x catan corner pieces
6x catan-edge-small
3-1-3-1-3-1-3-1-3-1-3-1
For the storage I started with a cheap wooden box.
Inside measurements:
282x182x108 mm with extra room in the lid.
Inside divider: 280x100x3.5 mm
Mine is made out of multiplex, but could be printed aswell.
Use 4 fixtures to place the divider (optionally 1 extra fixture on the bottom for more stability)
For the Vertical tile storage print:
2x big-center
2x small-center
2x big-outside
2x small-outside
These can be glued to the inside of the box and divider
For the trays print 16 supports (which should not be glued to the box)
print 2x Catan95x89x16.stl for the remaining 2 tiles.
Extra room for bits and pieces:
1x CatanLongSections190x87x16.stl
1x CatanShortSections83x87x16.stl
1x CatanSmall83x89x16.stl
