Cardboard spools make a squeaking / grinding noise on my spool mount. See picture.
I made this insert sleeve and it fixes the problem.
I haven't had a spool this doesn't fit onto, it can be a tick loose on some - isn't an issue for my mount situation.
Fits best on Elegoo spools, and it is designed with those in mind because it's what I use most of the time.
Elegoo Spools = 53mm ID
Polymaker = 55mm ID
6/15/2024 Update
New Version with two simple but significant updates.
1 - Added inside tracks to reduce friction between the spool mount and this insert
2 - Added a version with holes for efficiency. Saves ~20% per unit. Which is good, it's nice to spam these out so you can just slap them on new rolls.

PS - I am trying to work on a version where the diameter ramps up towards the lip so 55mm spools grab onto the insert, but I am having some trouble making something that will work consistently between 53mm and 55mm ID spools.
