The file 'Carcassonne Complete Set Organizer 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 2.9MB.
There are a bunch of Carcassonne Organizers here for download but they all fell short of my expectations. Those expectations being an organizer that contains all the pieces from every expansion into the smallest possible footprint.
Since nothing like that existed I designed this myself. It consists of 3 trays, 2 of which are designed to perfectly stack on top of each other. It has space for the tiles and tokens from these C2 + C3 sets (C2 and C3 are the same size):
Carcassonne Base Game
The River
The River II
The Phantom
All The Main exppansions:
Inns & Cathedrals
Traders & Builders
Princess & Dragon
The Tower
Abbey & Mayor
Count, King & Robber
Bridges, Castles and Bazaars
Hills & Sheep
Under the Big Top
All the Mini Expansions that come with big box 6 & 7:
The Flying Machines,
The Messengers,
The Ferries,
The Goldmines,
Mage & Witch,
The Robbers.
Crop Circles II.
What this set does not include:
Design:
The whole footprint of the 3 trays is designed to fit inside a cut up and modified Big Box, along with a set of tile holders. See my pictures for an understanding of this. There is also a MINI version of Tray 1. With this mini version it should be possible to fit the entire set inside an original Carcassonne box. A fair warning however, the mini tray leaves things TIGHT and its hard to fit all the pieces and abbots in there (But they do fit). I figured people would be purchasing the big box 6 or 7 anyway to acquire all the expansions, so having the regular, slightly larger tray 1 works better. The regular sized tray 1 is also designed perfectly to be rectangular with the tiles holder (Again see pictures). I have included both files however so you can print what you like.
I also made a very thin tile holder. You can print that and the lid. Warning, its a bit wobbly, but its as compact as you can make it! Its designed to fit THESE tiles https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25158
Anyway, the pictures are self explanatory and show what this organizer is all about. If anybody wants to take a picture of the printed organizer fitting in an original Carcassonne box, it would be awesome as I don't own the standalone base game.
Printing:
Printed with PLA+. I'm sure regular PLA will work too.
Print Tray 1 and 2 without support.
Print Tray 3 with supports (There's big overhangs for the card indents when stacking)
I printed the trays with a raft. I couldn't get them to print without warping because its a large flat surface (Especially Tray 2). But maybe your printer is better than mine and wont do that? Either way, if you get warping, print with a raft to fix it!
Legal: Feel free to use my design in anyway, print it for others and modify it, EXCEPT for the purpose of making moneya commercial operation. I'm a huge fan of the "create things in life and distribute for free mentality" (aka open source) and everything I design follows this. So no, you cant print these and sell them on your Etsy store.
Other: The black bag is just something I took from my Logitech headphones I own. I found it great to hold all the instructions and gameboard. You can use any ol pouch for this
As for the cutting and modifying of the big box, sorry I cant help you much there, as I forgot to document when I did it. But all I did was make half cuts with a box cutter so I can bend the thick cardboard. I then used some glue on the inside to hold it all down. I say get everything printed, line it up like I have and try to figure out where to make your cuts so you can bend the box smaller. Thats how I did it.
