The file 'Car Or Wall Mount Gripping Smartphone Holder System 3D Printer Model' is (stl,f3d) file type, size is 7.4 MB.
This is a "gripping" smartphone holder than depending on the attachment you use, can mount in a car or to a wall. The gripping action is achieved with a rubber band.
Some features / design goals
To swap mounting attachments, you can pinch the arches on the back plates to slide them off of the holder. When you slide in a back plate, it will slide in with a satisfying click.
I've made a straight vent clip (no swivel joint) and also a swivel vent clip. The straight attach vent clips come in vertical or horizontal versions. The swivel version works with both vent orientations.
I created the wall mount for a friend who needed to attach it to a camper (RV). 3M command strips work well.
Make sure the threaded nut screws on straight. Do not cross thread. Tightening the nut stiffens the holders position. Adjust the nut accordingly.
The threaded nut is stiff at first. Work it on and off a few times and it will work just fine.
I remixed the CD mount. I was going to design one but found one that looked good and had good comments. I made some minor changes to work with my mounting system.
The difference between the CD mount files is that one prints without supports (just a raft and printing at the proper angle, see blue build plate picture). The other requires support. Your option.
