I wanted a car phone holder, but couldn't find a unit that worked for me.
So with a few prototypes and slicing and dicing of other models, I now have one.
This phone holder uses magnets to hold the phone, with help of a piece of metal in the back of the phone case.
The magnet holder can hold more magnets than i needed to hold my phone, so i put a bit of cardboard to fill the extra space.
The magnets I used were from old hard disk drives from retired desktop computers.
I used super glue to join the parts together.
I glue bits of felt to the stoppers of the parts that touches the front of the CD slot.
Also I lubricated nut thread with vaseline.
Best printed with Petg or ABS, due to the possible heat of a parked car.
I had a prototype printed in PLA, the ball joint got loose on a warm day, while parked in the sun.
