The file 'Car Air Induction / Intake Y-piece 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.6MB.
My MGTF had two intake pipes feeding the stock air filter box. I replaced these with longer pipes so I could reroute them into the side air vent intake of the car to access colder air. I'm refurbishing my car and want to bypass and remove the air filter box completely but reuse the two feed pipes so I don't have to purchase a whole new intake system. This Y-piece enables me to do this.
The single pipe end of the Y-piece has an internal diameter of 70mm to match the stock flexible rubber S-shaped piece connected directly to the throttle body. I expect to join it or any subsequent pipes, for example 90 degree bends, using a 70mm short aluminium alloy pipe and hose (jubilee) clamp. The double end pipes are each 68mm to fit the two replacement feed pipes that will be glued into place.
I printed this piece using Eryone PETG-Carbon (green and black) so it should resist the high temperatures of the engine bay. I used a cubic infill at 12% with a double-line for strength and a 1.2mm thick wall, top and bottom.
Many thanks to the designer (Schoefmau5) of the model on which my design is based.
