Summary

So our well water is horrible. Then we got this nice fridge with an icemaker. So what to do. Use bottled water of course. Our friends from Duluth, have great water so we get our 5-gallon refills using their water. Of course one of those pesky caps will wander off occasionally making the bottle very inconvenient. If this ever happens to you, print one of these caps. They are not fancy, but the seem to get the job done. If you can print in Ninja Flex, check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:845132.

If you wish to run you fridge from a 5-gallon jug. you'll need a pump. We use something like "Flojet Bw5000 Bottled Water Dispensing System", Just google it. You'll find one on eBay, probably Amazon too. Works great! A bit noisy, especially when it suddenly starts to make ice during a late night horror movie. But you get used to the sound. Throw the ice maker tubing supplied with the pump away, and get "Whirlpool® Refrigerator Water Supply Kit" from your local home improvement store. It has a better connector to your refrigerator. You will still need to cut one end off to connect to the pump. Oh well. We haven't had a leak yet, but of course, when it does happen, it will proceed to empty the full 5-gallon jug.
