Shamelessly stolen idea.
I tried this on a bread muffin and it kind of works. If you squeeze the handle it grips the slice and you can pick it up. The bottom edge is flat so its hard to cut bread without thumping it but I think on a very soft cake it should work alright.
Don't forget to print using food safe plastic instead of ABS if you intend using this regularly.
