Summary

This is "yet another cable chain", that I've made to better fit in aluminium profiles, used in most of the cheap CNC routers/engravers.

Project consist of:

  • cable input shaft - fitting in to the aluminium profile 20x20
  • chain links, with small notches - when moving, it directs chain over the middle of the profile 20x20 and bigger
  • cable output element - it fits into stepper motor "collar", because of it you can regulate distance from the stepper
  • stepper motor collar - that should fit on usually used Nema 17 steppers for CNC and 3D printers. You can screw the collar to the stepper, but it will work just fine without it.

    • updated collar: longer wall around stepper, wider cable output space, additional cable holder in front
