This is an adapter I created which will allow you to mount a cell phone holder in your early C4 corvette (84-89) utilizing two existing mounting screws.
This holder will fit right in between the center console dash trim bezel and the breadbox on these years corvette. It has the added bonus of having tabs long enough to rest on the corner of the breadbox itself and will cover the (almost always) unsightly broken tabs that many C4s have in the bezel due to overtightening of the screws.
Mounting is accomplished by removing the two screws that hold the bezel on the right side and replacing these screws with the wood screws. The mounting is solid and should give enough room for you to hold your cell phone either vertically or horizontally.
The ball pivot seems to fit most available cell phone mounts (at least the half dozen or so that I have come across). If you need a custom ball size, it should be easy enough to make one in Tinkercad or your preferred package and use the mount with it.
The picks show the mount in various stages of assembly to give you an idea of how to assemble. I am using the mount with a wireless charger so I just need to drop the phone in and go. I have included the links to the units I used below. I do not receive any compensation, I am just listing them for completeness.
If you look at one of the pictures of the holder installed, you can see the bluetooth adapter installed in the center console where the passenger power seat controls would be (if equipped). That USB and Auxillary Jack are custom installed by me. The Auxilliary jack has been added to the factory original Delco Bose unit using instructions I wrote and published on the Corvette Forum web site (link Below for you C4 Bose folks).
The setup works well and I can use the phone for both navigation as well as taking calls. My 86 is a convertible and the mic in the adapter picks up the conversation well enough.
