So I bought a 12864 Display LCD 3D Printer Controller for my printer. I received it and it works just fine. (beyond the fact it doesn't have the adjustment potentiometer for the screen and the push button is the tall variant. Since the button is taller I needed to digitally drill a hole to make room for the taller button.
The hole I made at the bottom is 5.0mm diameter and 3.2mm deep.
Update 1: V2
So 3.2mm wasn't enough
V2 hole is 5.0mm diameter and 4.0mm deep
Update 2: V3
Before printing V2 I decided to reduce the base from 2mm to 1mm and with the extra room I also decided to increase the hole depth to 4.2mm.
V3 hole is 5.0mm diameter and 4.2mm deep (3.2mm deep from cut base)
Note the 4.2mm depth is starts at the full 2mm base not the 1mm base.
