Summary

Like most board gamers, we have games that don't come with ways to store and organise the components that come with them. (Well maybe plastic bags, but still those can get daggy/ripped/lost.)

There are a number of people who design and sell these aftermarket items, but I thought I would design and publish one for my most recent addition : Burgle Bros (by Tim Fowers)

So The Burgle Bros game box organiser was born.

Firstly I would like to point out that there might some similarities with other commercial designed organizers for this game, but really - there are only some many logical ways you can store/slot/stack/arrange things that the ergonomics come out pretty similar.

For example, I could have designed a vertical hollow cylinder to store the round tokens used in the game, but then you cant see/count inside such and arrangement, and when you want to get them out, if one get stuck half way down it would be impossible (without a lot of banging of it upside down on the table, and who wants that).

The same thing for storing and arranging tiles. So don't comment/shoot me down for copying someone else's idea.

This design also allows for the manual to be stored in the box like normal, and does not require you to take the insert/space out of the top of the box.

The top tray is designed with a slight angle so that it slides in with issues with the lid/insert. It can still be printed in any orientation as the angle is so small it doesn't require any support.

Both STL (which work) and Openscad for each part is included. This is version 1.1 since the first version I tried (1.0) was to small to fit them in the first time around. (1.1mm to small dang it).

----- Update 25/11/2016 -----
After using the box for the tokens a number of times I release while was good, it had issues.

So I re-designed the box to have a sliding lid and side. a picture is included with the old one (white) and the new box half slide open with tokens inside(transparent PLA).

STL's provided and original openscad if you want to modify it for your printer i.e. the lid(top) tollerence variable. If the lid doesnt fit, increase the tollerence, and just reprint the lid, if the lit has to much slop, decrease the tollerence and reprint the lid.

I designed this one, to fit more tokens of the same size (so not "just enough") so you could use this to store tokens for other games.

New files are called BurgleBros2v0, as SCAD, BOT.stl and TOP.stl.
