This is a remix of Skalla_J's spool storage system. I planned to build a tall one that could be heavy and wanted a robust handle. This lead to me redesigning the system to make a customer design with his STL parts as a starting point. The design was done in ANYSYS Spaceclaim Engineer. It is designed to stack as many spools as you want with the right length threaded rods and enough connector parts. I call it the Bumblebee spool storage system based on the colors I decided to use.
I used Inland filament spools from Microcenter.
Center Hole ID is 2.145 inches, Slightly over 54 mm.
OD of spool is 198 mm, just over 7 3/4 inches
