Summary

We use cable drums at work that use two disks of plywood sandwiching a cardboard tube. When the drum of cable is fully unwound, the drum is of no further use. By attaching one of these on each side through the ply, you can make large diameter budget wheels. Great for carts. These are designed for an 8mm axle. if you need to make some clearance, angle grind a slot in the end of some 8mm shaft or use a blunted drill bit so you don't chip the PLA or ABS.

This is designed so that it prints with high strength at a nozzle setting of 1.35mm diameter. half or a third of that would also work well. Examine the slicer output to check for voids.
