Designed this rocket in Fusion360. Has all the main components.
Fin Can - There are 2 versions, my original that i have in the pictures above and then a lighter version, i thinned a couple of the walls and added a pair of launch lugs to this version (After printing and cleaning, the 2nd version weighed 47.3 grams less than the 1st version). The fin can also has the motor mount that can fit an E sized motor or a D size with spacer (on both versions) The motor mount end is threaded so you can secure your motor with the cap which is also in this. The fins extend down past the bottom just far enough so that the cap is either flush or just shorter so that when the rocket is just sitting, it can rest on its fins without having to use some sort of rocket display stand.
Truss/Coupler - I wanted to have a clear section of tubing but wanted to make it look more interesting, so it has some supports running through it and then a solid piece on either end to attach traditional body tubes to. Also, on one end of the truss, there is a stopping ring that is 56.3mm in diameter (the same as the BT-70 tube). i put this to make sure i had my clear tubing in the correct place, but also as an attachment point for glue so there is minimal glue visible on this piece.
NoseCone - The nose cone actually turned out better than i was hoping, it is very light, walls are 1mm thick and the very tip of the nose cone gradually gets thicker to a max of 2.5mm for strength. On the neck, i wanted to make sure it was strong so i ran some ribs up into the cone from the bottom, and attached another ring, 6mm tall at the base for strength, this is also where the horizontal bar runs across to attach shock cords and your parachutes.
Please share your makes if you decide to try out any of these pieces!
