Got an El-Cheapo broom that lasted me about 3 months before the business end fell off. Turns out the cheap injection-molded plastic threaded end failed. I was looking around on Thingiverse to see if someone already CADed out a replacement I could just print and hammer back into the broom stick. Sadly, I was unable to find such a thingi and decided to CAD my own.
If you are looking for one of these, like I was 3 hours ago, here it is! I printed it in PLA at 0.1 mm height and 25% infill to try to get something that would last. I think I have seen this same type of threading in push brooms, mops, paint roller extension rods and maybe even a few of those ceiling fan cleaners. If you need it, use it! If you make it or use it, share a photo and what you used it for.
Orientation Note: Print Threads Up! no raft no supports (like I usually try designing, because I am not patient enough for supports)
Update: Added "reinforced" version that can accommodate some M4 hardware (bolt/washer/nut) to help the plastic layers and make the part stronger. I am also going to try to use this same design to make an "expanding base" version, where you tighten the screw after it is in the broom handle so that it expands slight to ensure a tight fit.
