This assembly is a clamp for holding plates in the classic Break-A-Plate carnival game. This is a four-bar linkage that locks into place. Lock is achieved by pressing on the button after the clamp is closed. You open the clamp by lifting on the button.
The parts are best printed in ABS or PETG for outdoor performance and impact resistance.
You will need to print 1 of each part, except Link2 for which two are required.
For best strength, the links and the arm should be printed so that the holes are vertical.
Buttons are best printed with the widest portion flat on the bed. A textured build plate make for a nice appearance of the button.
Links are put together with 3mm x 28mm dowel pins - depending on how your printer shapes the hole, you may need to secure them, in the non-moving areas, with CA glue such as Loctite 420.
The button is held together with a 5mm x 10mm dowel pin and secured with CA glue. Original design had a 3D printed pin for the button, but they broke.
1/8" thick neoprene is cut to size and added to the jaws of the clamp. This protects the plate and provides the spring needed for a satisfying click.
