Summary

The RetroTINK-4K has a SCART input with threaded M4 screw holes for users to create solutions for secure connections, as modern SCART plugs are loose-fitting and prone to disconnection. This hood adds brackets with holes sized for M4 x 4mm x 6mm knurl nuts. M4 screws with a thread length of 10mm will secure the plug. The bottom half of the shroud has chambers for two M3 x 6mm x 5mm knurl nuts.

This plug was designed as a replacement for the bulky metal shrouds of the KabelDirekt SCART cable, with a cable diameter of about 11.3mm. The M3 countersink screws from the original shroud can be used here. If countersink screws are not available, common M3 bolts can be used. Two small posts are embedded in the inner diameter of the external screw thread to secure the cable inside the shroud. If this isn't sufficient, or if the cable you're installing this onto is thinner than 11.3mm, other means to keep the cable from slipping will be needed.

The angled connector pieces place the cable at a 20 degree angle, but heat-setting the M4 knurl nuts or installing a screw beneath the cable may be difficult. The straight pieces are recommended if this is a concern.
