So I have had TWO of these machines and the stupid little level arm is such a pain in the rear. Its a fiddly thing to get back into place if it falls out and it breaks too, They do not make this machine anymore but they will happily sell you a new arm for $7 plus shipping and tax. I do not have the energy right now to make a design that fixes the other problems but what I do have is the ability to create something close to what they use to replace it..
The pegs are slightly thicker so they are less likely to slip but you will need to sand off the support material carefully or do what I did and just trim what you can and then use a lighter to gently warm up the ends and give it a little squish. It fits pretty snug so unless it breaks it should not fall out. (Don't hold me to that though I have not been using it that long)
