As a backer of the Kickstarter for Dinosaur Island: X-treme Edition and the Totally Liquid expansion, I struggled with the same challenge as everyone else has been having - how to store all of this content in the box, or worst-case two boxes?

While it is scientifically proven to be impossible to fit everything from these products in a single box, I have come pretty close. If one is willing to set aside some of the dinosaur meeples, it is possible to get all of the gameplay content into the base game box! The trick is accepting that you don't need all of the meeples - for Kickstarter backers there are way more than necessary (e.g., 8 of each water dino when you should only ever need a maximum of 4). If you are willing to accept that the meeples won't match the dinosaurs you are breeding (gasp, like someone who buys the game at retail), you can get everything in one box. I couldn't go that far so I have two extra lidded trays of dinosaur meeples that might need to tag along.

There are some great inserts out there already, but I designed my own for two reasons:

1. I have a fairly small 3D printer, only able to print objects a little over 12cm^3

2. As I've already said, I wanted to design a solution where I could have the flexibility to fit all of the content I would need into a single box, for easier transport to game nights, etc.

My solution uses a couple of additional components:

• I replaced the paddock tiles with these 3d printed ones - great design that seems easier to use during gameplay, and also saves some space

• I am using 2 Ultra Pro 50 Count Clear Card Storage Boxes to store the paddocks and also the visitor meeples, although I have also provided a model to replace these with a 3D-printed tray

Where possible I also tried to design the components to be usable during play as well (e.g., upgrade and attraction trays can go right on the market board).

Components to print:

• 1x di_coin_holder: Holds all the metal coins
• 1x di_upgrade_stack: Tray for all upgrade tiles
• 1x di_upgrades_and_visitors: Holds the 3 lab upgrade tile types, plus a second compartment that holds the extra visitor meeples used for plot twists (e.g., VIP meeples and extra hooligans)
• 1x di_attractions: Tray for all attraction tiles
• 5x di_player_pieces: Holds all the per-player components (workers, scientists, tokens, marker and limit cubes
• 1x di_dice_tray: Holds all the regular dice as well as the 3 plot-twist ones. This is the biggest component to print, maxed out my print bed at about 124mm across
• 1x di_dino_tray_large: For holding most of the herbivore dinosaur meeples
• 3x di_dino_tray_small: One for water dinos (about half of them), one for small carnivores and one for large carnivores
• 1x di_executives_tray: Holds the executive meeples and megadino meeple in one section, and all the facilities attraction tiles in the other
• 1x di_facility_meeples: Holds the special meeples used with facilities - eggs, goats, baby dinos and extra cubes for the hotel
• 1x di_bits_holder: This spacer piece helps to keep everything in place. I am keeping the extra visitors intended for 5 player games, although those could optionally be thrown in with the rest
• 2x di_dino_tray_small_lid: Lids for any trays that don't make it into the box
• 2x di_visitor_or_paddock_tray: Optional, use in lieu of Ultra Pro card boxes for storing the visitor meeples and paddock components

This solution provides some flexibility depending on what expansions you intend to play with:

• Option 1: Bring all the dinos - omit all the expansion material except for water dinos and the fifth player pieces
• Option 2: Omit the water dinos, include all the card-based expansions from Totally Liquid (Blueprints, PR events, etc.)
• Option 3: Omit two trays of dinos (water dinos and/or some of the carnivores) and include Facility board, Executive meeples, and other cards from Totally Liquid

I've also included a reference PDF of how to put everything back in the box, which can be printed and attached in the box lid.
