A common problem regarding disassembly of airbags on older BMW's is that the two tiny pins on the locking clip that goes into the plug often breaks. If these pins break they will not push the short-circuit pins of the airbag away from the pins, and you will receive an airbag fault that won't go away, even with a proper scanner.
Note: this does NOT disable your airbag in any way.
So i designed this replacement clip. It's still a work in progress, but after multiple attempts i finally was able to make a clip that successfully removed the airbag lamp.
Fitment is not perfect, by any means, and it is hard to remove without breaking the pins as they are very thin (0,8x1,5mm).
This worked for my 2001 BMW E53 X5 to remove the right door airbag fault, and will probably work for other models such as E46 and E39. Unsure it it fits any other locations than the door airbags. You need to use a scan tool to remove the lamp after installing this clip.
Please use at your own risk.
