***UPDATE-20180216-February 16,2018: I have updated and printed out the new Bitx-40 Case and Lid and uploaded these two new DATE STAMPED files. Just some minor tweaks and removal of minor nuisances from my previous files (too many to list here). I have also uploaded some renders of the files. As I move my present Bitx-40 build to this new case, I'll post a few pictures. Have fun and 73! -Bill WB9BBC
Printer settings: 0.25mm resolution, 30mm/sec, 20% infill, supports everywhere (for the case). It took a little over 10+ hours for the case printout. Warpage may be a factor due to the large size and therefore lots of other parameters come into play. It may be necessary to employ slicer options such as printing with a removable brim of some size.
This CASE and LID project houses the HAM RADIO BITX40 40METER 5WATT QRP SSB TRANSCEIVER (just $59!):

"Manufacture -The BITX boards are hand assembled by a collective of women (in INDIA). Each of the toroids is hand wound. This provides these women with livelihood".
I had a problem printing the original CASE LID file -repaired using Microsoft's online 3D TOOLS website. Prints fine for me now.
Have since reworked the LID by adding M3 HEX NUT (press-fit) cutouts and mounting holes.
Reworked the BITX40 CASE by:
-Added mounting holes for the LID.
-Incorporating the BEZEL+LCD as an integral unit.and added mounting holes.
-Removal of the front panel MIC connector in favor of a left-side BAOFENG Speaker Microphone K-Mount (KENWOOD 2-pin K-style 3.5mm+2.5mm stereo jacks). Also Fits Anytone, Kenwood and Wouxun speaker mics.

Added mounting holes for front panel POTs, BNC, and DC POWER.
I am not sure who to credit for the knobs and washer designs. I have uploaded my versions that somewhat fit my parts but I am still tweaking these parts fit. I am using the kits included AF POT with 4mmX20mm shaft and my version knob is still too loose. Use a length of heatshrink tubing on the shaft. I also used ELMERS WASHABLE DISAPPEARING GLUE to afix the knobs but allow later removal (with glass cleaner) while I am tweaking these parts.
I am using a 100-Kohm 10-Turn control for my TUNING POT instead of the kit's included pot. Unit tunes in 0.1HZ increments over a roughly 50Khz span. At pot extremes the unit tunes in +/-10Khz steps. Recommended.
NOTE: The original case designed PCB mounting holes did not work with my BITX40V3 with RADUINO kit (received 4/2017). I have since REDESIGNED (R10) these integral case PCB mounting holes with standoffs (NOT included with THIS posted release (R04)). I am not happy with my later design, so I will re-do and post at a later date after I print my own satisfactory version. Stay tuned.
The picture of my working bitx40 model does not have the SPEAKER MIC wired up yet -still waiting for 2.5mm stereo jack.
Files and features are subject to CHANGE. I will attempt to post relevant details with revision bumps as they occur. Also, pictures may not match the files posted.
If I can help in any way or customizations let me know.
Please post your pics!
