Summary

My roommate and I got bunk beds recently so that we could get more space in our dorm room. It's worked out great so far, except the one problem I have on the top bunk is that I have nowhere to put my phone at night since I need it close to wake me up and I don't feel comfortable just having it sit on the bed next to me since I'm 10 feet off the ground.

So I decided to make this. A shelf that fits onto the side of the bed frame. I designed it for my phone, which is an iPhone 6 with an Otterbox, so it should fit most phones pretty easily.

I've only printed the original, not Phone Shelf 2, so far. I realized after I finished printing the first version that having a little indent to make it easier to pull the phone out and to make more space for a charger would be a good idea, but it really isn't a big deal to not have it so I don't think I need to use the extra plastic to make a whole new shelf. I see no reason why those changes would cause any problems when printing though so long as the indent is at the top.

The hook for the bed frame is based on the bed in my dorm room which is probably not the same as every bed ever, so I uploaded a .step file for each one so that other people can modify it as they need to. I'll probably upload another version at some point that you can just tack onto a wall. You may need to scale the .step file up to ten times it's original size since Inventor has a tendency to export CAD files at a tenth of their original size for some reason. So if you try to modify it and it seems small, that's probably because it is.
